摘要：A telephone handset (18, 20, 22) is capable of communicating by radio with abase station (12, 14, 16) in a cordless telephone system. The handset comprises a storeinto which the handset user enters the telephone numbers of callers by whom he wishesto be paged (eg family, friends, business contacts). To each caller the user issues acorresponding paging number. When a caller wishes to contact the handset user, thecaller dials the paging number, the handset receives a paging signal which is correlatedwith a number in the store and this identifies the caller. Alert means on the handset alertthe user that he is being paged.
