The BFG (《圆梦巨人》) is a new film. Its story is from a book by British writer Roald Dahl. Just about one month ago, the whole world celebrated Dahl’s 100th birthday. He wrote many popular stories for children. But he said he liked The BFG most. What’s the story about? The BFG is the Big Friendly Giant (巨人). He lives with nine other giants in Giant Country. While other giants spend every night eating people, the BFG doesn’t like it. He eats vegetables and collects dreams for children. One day, the BFG meets a 10-year-old girl Sophie in London. Sophie has no parents, so he takes her back to his home. Sophie is afraid at first. But when she gets to know the BFG, they become best friends. They have fun in the giants’ world. But other giants soon know about Sophie and they want to eat children in London. Sophie and the BFG try to tell the Queen of England about this danger. In the end, the Queen, Sophie and the BFG make a plan to fight the bad giants. Meet the characters
Sophie: Sophie grows up in an orphanage (孤儿院). She is brave. She is full of questions for the BFG, about his life and the other giants.
The BFG: He is a Big Friendly Giant. He is 7.3 meters tall, as tall as 2.5 stories (层) of a building. He only eats vegetables.
Fleshlumpeater: He is the boss of the bad giants. As the largest giant, he is much taller than the BFG. He has a good sense of smell. So he soon knows about Sophie when she comes to their world.
