Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by Jane Austen,a famous English writer.She was born in the village of Steventon in Hampshire.The novel’s original name was First Impression,but Jane changed its name into Pride and Prejudice when it was published in 1813.

It mainly tells us a story between Darcy and Elizabeth.At first,Darcy left a bad impression on Elizabeth,because he

looked down upon those who have lower social position than him. However，after several contacts with Elizabeth,Darcy found Elizabeth charming，appreciated the liveliness of her mind and fell in love with her later.But his arrogance has hurt Elizabeth，so she turned him and criticizing him for ruining the happiness of her sister and depriving the rights of Mr. Wickham.Instead of arguing for himself at once,Darcy sent a letter to her the other day in wich he explained the reason why he separated Mr. Bingley and Jane and what Wickham did before. Elizabeth began to change her view on Darcy.And after her visiting to Pemberley,their relationship was greatly

improved .Then Darcy helped to find Lydia and Wickham who eloped together and gave them a large amount of money to get married as well.During this period，Elizabeth completely eliminated the prejudice to Darcy and fell in love with him. Finally they got married and lived a happy life.

This book is about a love story.I still remember Darcy’s words when Elizabeth asked him when he found himself fall in love with her.“I cannot fix on the hour，or the spot，or the look，or the words，which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.”Their love story is so beautiful.It makes me think about love in today’s society.Nowadays,many people love each other at first.However,after a period of time,they gradually get tired of each other.Such love is not truelove.When two people really love each other,they won’t feel tired and they will take care of each other until the end,just like Darcy and Elizabeth.So it’s time for those who are immersed in playing with love to reflect themselves.Otherwise,they will never get true love.

However,this novel is not just a love story.The character Elizabeth has left a deep impression on me.She is a clever,brave and independent woman.She read many books and had her own thought.Confronted with the marriage her mother arranged for

her,she bravely refused it.She never felt herself inferior to those who are in upper class than her.To some extent,she is just the embodiment of the author.In today’s society,many women still rely on others to make a live.However,they cannot always live in this way.Women should have their on pursuits.They should be independent and have their own career.Only by doing these can they survive in today’s society for no one can foresee what will happen in the future.Everyone of us women should learn from Elizabeth who is clever,brave and independent.Through doing this,women can live a much happier life.
