It is my great honor to stand before you today to share with you an incredible story of
perseverance, determination - the story of Sū Bingtian, a pioneering Chinese sprinter(短跑运动员) who has broken barriers and defied the odds to become a role model for millions of people across the globe.
Born on September 29, 1991, in Daqing, a small city in Heilongjiang Province, Sū Bingtian began his journey in athletics at the age of 16. Despite having no prior(先前的)
experience in the sport, he quickly demonstrated exceptional talent and joined the local sports school in his hometown.
His journey was not without challenges, however. As a young athlete, Sū Bingtian faced criticism and skepticism from others who believed that a sprinter with his height and body structure(结构) could not excel(擅长) in the sport. But he refused to let these doubts deter(阻止) him. Instead, he worked even harder to prove his critics wrong.
His dedication and determination paid off when he attended the 2015 World
Championships in Beijing, marking his first major international competition. But it was at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta(雅加达) that Sū Bingtian truly made history. He became the first Asian athlete to break the 10-second barrier in the 100-meter sprint, setting a new Asian record of 9.91 seconds.
This remarkable achievement not only brought him international recognition(认可) but also inspired countless young athletes in Asia and around the world.
In conclusion, I would like to express my utmost admiration for Sū Bingtian and his remarkable achievements.
Let us take inspiration from his story and remember that no goal is too high if we reach out for it with courage, determination, and passion.
