International activities are useful ways to improve communication among different countries in contemporary society. As the most famous sporting occasion all over the world, the football World Cup is said to be significant in easing international tensions and delivering patriotic emotions. To my point of view, developing global exchanges benefits our society, for the reason that those popular international events encourage the process of modernization and the enrichment of national culture.
It is obvious that cross-cultural communication has many advantages. To start with, it can strength mutual understanding between nations. More precisely, promoting international exchanges would expand cultural, educational, scientific cooperation between nations and countries. As a result, cultural diversity would enjoy the cultural achievements of people around the world and make our life more colorful. In addition, as has been noted, cross-cultural communication is a useful method which can remove prejudice and misunderstanding among different countries. Through these occasions we can learn more useful and interesting things from other countries.
In contrast , this phenomenon is accompanied by some problems. For example, global culture would cause deficiency of our traditional culture. Today increasingly young people are interested in things which are from other culture. It would have
detrimental influence on our national identity and value. Nevertheless, I think the advantage prevail to disadvantage of cross-cultural communication because such problems can be solved by some efficient measure such as school and parents can cultivate their children how to appreciate our national culture.
Overall, the football World Cup and things like that contribute our international communication. We can learn variety of local customs and practices which are far away from us. Consequently, developing cross-cultural communication has many merits in today’s society.
