2 Have a simple dictation.
Ask the students to write down the English words they have heard. Try to form an active atmosphere and to master the pronunciation of /u:/ and /æ/. “一个fool, 掉进pool, 真是cool; 手拿book, 一边look, 开始cook. 我家dad, 脾气bad, 让我sad; 有只cat, 非常fat, 专吃rat.” After finished,then check the answer and read.
Step2 Lead in
Review the days of the week to present the weekend and the topic of this lesson “What do you usually do on weekends?”
T: Dear students, do you know how many days in one week? S: Seven days. T: What are they?
S: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
T: Great! Which days are weekends? S: Saturday and Sunday. T: Do you love weekends? S:Yes.
T: I also love weekends.Because I can sleep and relax on weekends. I often listen to music at home on weekends.Why you love weekends? What do you usually do on weekends? Now talk to your group members what activities you do on weekends?
Discussing for 3 minutes, students need to show their activities.
Step3 Presentation
1 I’ll show the pictures about some activities.Students try to read them aloud. Then present the new: housework.
2 At the same time, I’ll also present the sentence structure A: What do you usually do on weekends? B: I often help with the housework.
3 Some exercise before the next step, try to be more familiar with the new words.
4 Other pictures about 1a.
Finish the task. Make a list of the weekend activities according to the pictures.
About 3minutes,I’ll ask the students to check the answer. If the answering group is right,the group can get a stare. The read the activities together.
5 Present the frequency words through a picture.
To know the meaning of each words through some data.
Then I’ll ask one student to draw a line with an arrow to show the relations of these words. Read the words together. Always Usually Often

6 Listen and write the activities next to the correct frequency words. Listen to the tape two times, and check the answers.
Listen the third time, to fill in the blanks with the missing words. Check the answers and read the conversation.
Step4 Practice
1 Practice the sentence structure by using the third person. A: What does she usually do on weekends? B: She often reads books. 2 Pair-work
Practice the conversation in 1c with your partners.
Step5 Summary
T: Today we talked about what we usually do on weekends? Then how often we do these activities on weekends? Please preview the next lesson to find the answers.

Make a report, interview your group members. What do the usually do on weekends?

反思:考虑到这是一个单元的开始,所以并未正式进入“How often”学习,算是整个单元的预热。只是准备在课堂结尾处点出“How often”,以起到一个为下节课学习做铺垫的作用。但从实际教学中,时间把握不当,以致课堂草草结束,并未点出下节课的知识点。还有就是课堂用语比较混乱,说明准备还不够。今后在这些方面一定加强功夫,努力改正。
