When fishermen throw fishing nets（渔网）into the water，they catch not only different kinds of fishes，but also a lot of seabirds．Here is the reason：seabirds mainly live on fish．When there are fish in the nets，seabirds can smell fish from far away and fly to the nets to catch fish．As a result，they get caught in the nets and then die．These fishing nets kill at least 400，000 seabirds every year．Some seabirds are in great danger now． Scientists know that many seabirds don't like to see other animals' eyes．If they do，they will fly away．So they came up with an idea．They designed a floating buoy（浮标）with big eyes and made the eyes large enough so that all seabirds could see the eyes．Also，scientists made the eyes keep moving in the water，so birds coming from different places could see them easily and then flew away．Scientists tested the buoys in the water for 250 hours．The result showed that the eyes made 20%-30% of ducks leave，and some seabirds visited the water less even three weeks after scientists took away the buoys． The test showed success and hope，but scientists found that the eyes didn't work for all kinds of seabirds．Some were not afraid of the eyes in the first place，and some ca me back again to fish finally．Scientists hope that they will build better eyes．There is a long way to go to save seabirds，but scientists will keep moving forward．
