摘要：Novel cathode materials for use in electrochemical cells are disclosed. Thecathode material essentially comprises a conductive solution comprised of iodinedissolved in a mixture of two organic pyridine-based constituents, both of which functionas donors to form complexes with iodine, in addition to the dissolved iodine, an iodinesolid phase suspended therein. Large amounts of the iodine solid phase, relative to thedissolved iodine, may be used. Electrochemical cells containing the cathode materials arealso described.
