In the playing of a racing game, aparticipant repeatedly operates a plunger 78 and endeavours to launch a ball 86 up aramp and into an opening 68, through which it can drop into a channel (70) Fig. 5 (notshown) intermittently to close switch contacts energising an electric motor whichcontrols the movement of an associated figure 22 along a track 20. Four figures 22 andfour plungers 78 are provided as shown so that up to four players can compete in thegame. When a figure 22 reaches the end of its track it engages an actuator to release asign panel 92 which is then urged upwardly through a slot 94 to indicate that the figurehas completed its run.
