By the end of lesson, students are able to use these sentence patterns: What do you do? I’m a / an... What does she/he do? She/He’s a / an... What do you want to be? I want to be a / an... What does she/he want to be? She/He wants to be a / an...

By the end of lesson, students are able to talk about different jobs.

1. Contents

(1) Main words

shop assistant, doctor, reporter, policeman, policewoman, waiter, bank clerk, actor, teacher, student,nurse and so on.

(2) Main sentences

What do you do? I’m an actor. What does she/he do? She/He’s a doctor. What do you want to be? I want to be an actor.

What does she/he want to be? She/He wants to be a bank clerk.

(3) Main grammar

“want to be”plus profession,表示:想成为

Please look at pictures and guess what their English names are. T: What does she do ? Ss: She is a shop assistant.

T: Yes very good. Shop assistant means “店员”.Now read after me: S- H-

Ss: She is a nurse. T: Very good.Nurse means? Ss: 护士.

T: Very good! Now,turn to page 19,and match different jobs on the left. T: OK,Snow please. Snow: f,b,h,c,a,d,c,g.

T: Great,sit down please.

T: We have learned different jobs, do you think they are difficult to

remember? Ss: Yeah...

T: Here are some tips that help us to remember them. That is 动词变名词表示职业的方法:

1) 直接在动词后面加er/or: teacher, reporter, waiter 2) 以e结尾的动词直接加r: writer, dancer, driver 3) 以一个元音字母加一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节,双写最后一

个字母再加er: winner, runner

4)以辅音字母加y结尾的动词,改y为i,再加er: carrier

T: Do you want to do a test? Ss: Of course.

T: The test is to guess what his profession is. Understand? Ss: Yes.

T: OK, What does he do? Ss: He is a student. T: What does he do? Ss: He is a doctor. T: What does he do? Ss: He is a policeman.

T: What does he do? Ss: He is a reporter. T: You are very clever!

T: Now think about it: How to use and answer such sentences:What do

you do? What do you want to be? Ss: ...

T: To answer these questions we have to learn the phrase“want to be”

plus profession. The meaning is: 想成为. Here are some examples: I want to be an actor. He wants to be a doctor. She wants to be a teacher.

T: Just now we have learned how to answer such sentences: What do you

do? What do you want to be? So let’s do a pair work by using the sentence patterns to make a conversation with your partner. Ss: A: What do you do? B: I’m a student. And you? A: I’m a student,too. B: What do you want to be?

A: I want to be an actor. What do you want to be? B: I want to be a doctor.

T: Both of you are great ! OK sit down please.

IX. After lesson reflection

亮点:上完这堂课,我反思这一节课的教学。谈到职业,同学们大部分都

积极参与。我想这应该归功于兴趣。只有让学生不断体验学习英语的快乐,才能不断产生“我要学”的兴趣。本节课,我借助多媒体设备创设学习情境,使本来抽象、生硬的单词、句子变得生动,更贴近生活,让学生感知英语是一种贴近生活的语言。如果单凭说、讲,整节课会显得枯燥无味,但采用现代技术手段,极大的增加了学生的学习兴趣。

缺陷:课堂上存在个别学生跟不上、不敢发言的现象。在今后教学中,我

会针对性地采取一些办法,如小组学习,一帮一等活动来调动后进生参与课堂的积极性。我相信,今后的教学会更加赢得孩子们的喜爱。
