This week, the topic we will talk is human and animals. Anything involving you can talk about. OK, our group will be in the form of two person dialogue.
A: What’s your opinion about animals or do you like animals ?
B: Yes, I like. I think animals are our friends. And they even play an important role in our life, such as they can give us a comfort when we are upset.
A: I agree with you. I also think they are our good assistant. For example, guide dogs, they help the blind men a lot.
B: Yeah, I want to say something about dogs. I want to tell a story to you.
Long ago, at a railway station, a professor noticed that a lost akita |a:ki:te| dog burst through the cage. But wife of the professor didn't want to have a dog because her dog died before. Professor could only take it to the class, hoping to find someone willing to keep it.
Professor taught it to play with the ball in the yard and wanted it to pick up the ball, but it refused to pick. Later, he found the cage of the dog and knew it is an akita . Professor named it little eight because there was an \"eight\" word on dog chain. Akitas are royal variety, they don't like to pick up the ball, except for some special reasons.
Little eight had experienced a lot of happy time with the professor. Professor went to work and locked up little eight in the courtyard, but it dug a hole beside the wall and ran out. Outside the window, Professor saw little eight and run off the
train. Little eight jumped up and gave him a hug. When professor coming back at night, little eight seemed to feel the professor's return, then ran over the wall, waiting at the train station and looking toward the exit. All the year round , they walked and played together. Every evening, little eight watched towards the exit door intently, waiting for the professor.
One day morning, the little eight was reluctant to send professor, then professor went to the railway station. After that, he ran to the professor with carrying the ball. Professor saw that little eight was unexpectedly carrying the ball. For the first time, little eight satisfied his desire, professor was very happy in his mind. After that, little eight barked for a long time as if it heralded |herld| something.
Man's fate is as uncertain as the weather. Professor had heavy breathing, heart attacked and died in the classroom. People in the railway station were familiar with little eight. Tonight, it had waited for a long time, but professor still hadn't come back. The heavy snow flying, little eight went to the station still toward the exit as usual. Until the middle of the night, people told it don't have to wait any longer and professor won't come back.
After it was taken by professor daughter little eight was unhappy. Until one day, being allowed out of professor’s daughter’s home, little eight went along the tracks back to the station where it met with the professor. Hungry, went and got something to eat; tired, slept under the train at night. Next morning it went to the usual place on time to wait the professor to appear. A year again, the day was
fine and warm as beautiful as the day when it was playing together with professor. Year after year, little eight had been waiting alone.
Many years later, the hostess came back to visit their original home and to go to see the professor. At the station, she saw little eight and said with excited tears, \"For ten years, old chap, what are you waiting for him?\" Little eight had become an old dog with difficult walking.
Christmas of another year, the hostess told the story of the professor and little eight to his grandson. At this moment, little eight had come to the station and still stared at the door toward the exit. It slept down, closing its eyes and saw professor in its dream. In its mind, every picture of the professor sprung up again and again. He finally met professor.
Little eight was born in 1923, the professor died in May 1925. After waiting for nine years, little eight died in March 1934.
A: It’s a moving story. But do you know nowadays many people forget that animals are our friends and forget we should get along well. Someone are so selfish that they hurt animals for ivory sharks’ fin and so on. The result is the animals are dying and endangered.
B: Yes, I know. It’s so crazy.
A: You know many beautiful girls ladies like wearing mink coat in winter,
perhaps to keep warm or maybe to show them noble and identity. But a mink coat is made of the life of sable. Everyone knows how precious life is. No creature is willing to die in the world, just like us. Little animals have wished for a door open can see the sun of tomorrow, can also play in the freedom of the mountains.
Take off the fur, because it let you don’t look at all noble. Instead, more vulgar and cruel .Wear clothes that nature gives small animals, but I did not let you cover up, instead more show your greed.
B: I’m sorry to hear these. I sincerely hope I am able to refuse to kill for fur and protect animals like loving ourselves. No buying, no killing.
A: Yes, we should join effort to protect animals. No buying, no killing.
